Vote Early, Vote Often

Two votes for Eleanor right now, but I'm thinking of changing her name to Theodora because it has more scope for the imagination as well as the fact that you can use Theo as a sort of cool nickname. (If someone calls Eleanor El, she might think they're talking about the elevated train in Chicago.)

And speaking of the great Chicago tradition we have here that enables even dead people to participate in the political selection process, vote early and vote often for your choice for my NaNo novel. Only two votes in so far, and Eleanor is way out in front with...two votes. Need I say more? You're probably hoping not, so I'll let you all get back to the real world.

P.S. For those of you wondering what's happening to the Admiral, the Captain, and the rest of the crew, they're still making applesauce, because you simply cannot have too much applesauce. But we are working on the engine systems of our ship to get it ready for a dangerous mission in the outer reaches of the quadrant. You've probably heard of it: Wisconsin.

  1. Ooh. Will we need to take apples or applesauce with to the inhabitants of Wisconsin or do they have their own?

  2. There is absolutely no way I'm sharing my applesauce with the inhabitants of Wisconsin unless they have me pinned down with phaser fire and there is no choice.

  3. The Admiral has decreed that under no circumstances will we give our applesauce to the inhabitants of that quadrant. Not even if they take us captive. If they try to take our applesauce... THIS MEANS WAR!

  4. I wouldn't share my applesauce with them even if I was pinned down with phaser fire.

  5. Would you be willing to trade some applesauce for some homemade blackberry jam with an Okie??
might be a little expensive to ship between the great lands of Ok and IL.

  6. The Admiral here. I don't know about that idea. Ensign number one made black raspberry pie this year. I think you would have to go awefully far to make your blackberry jam measure up to the taste of that pie. And then last night I added red raspberries to the apples when they were cooking and today we have raspberry applesauce. I don't think it's going to last very long. Someone must have a transporter lock on it and is transporting it off little by little because it keeps disappearing.
